Steamfitter/Pipefitter is a compulsory Skilled Trades Certification trade in BC — every steamfitter/pipefitter must have an authorized SkilledTradesBC status, such as being a certified journeyperson, registered apprentice, or eligible experienced worker operating under a valid Temporary Authorization. Quantus will check each steamfitter/pipefitter's certification against the SkilledTradesBC registry at onboarding, so employers hire on confirmed credentials, not claims.

Compulsory Skilled Trade in BC

In British Columbia, Steamfitter/Pipefitter is one of SkilledTradesBC's 7 compulsory Skilled Trades Certification trades. A worker must have an authorized SkilledTradesBC status, such as being a certified journeyperson, registered apprentice, or eligible experienced worker operating under a valid Temporary Authorization, to legally perform this work.
