What ironworkers do in BC
Ironworkers in BC erect structural steel, place reinforcing steel (rebar), and install ornamental metalwork. The Ironworker trade is Red Seal designated in Canada. BC's high-rise and bridge construction depends on skilled ironworkers working at height under demanding conditions. Quantus connects GCs and structural contractors with ironworkers across British Columbia.
We'll verify the credentials ironworkers choose to hold
Certification is voluntary for ironworkers in BC — many invest in it anyway. Quantus will verify the certifications, insurance, and WorkSafeBC coverage a ironworker does hold at onboarding, so employers can tell verified credentials from claims. Note that voluntary status covers only the general trade — some specialized work can still carry its own separate, mandatory credential.
In British Columbia, certification for ironworkers is voluntary — there's no legal requirement to hold a Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal to work as an ironworker. Many do hold certification anyway. Quantus will verify whichever credentials a tradesperson holds at onboarding, so employers can tell confirmed credentials from claims.
