Terms of Service
Preliminary terms. These Terms govern use of the Quantus website and waitlist during our pre-launch period. The Quantus platform (where employers and tradespeople transact) is not yet live. Expanded terms covering platform accounts, verification, payments, and the relationship between employers and tradespeople will be published before the platform launches, and your continued use after that point will be subject to those terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Quantus website at joinquantus.com (the "Site"), or by joining our waitlist, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Who We Are
Quantus ("Quantus", "we", "us", "our") operates the Site and is currently operated as a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia. Quantus is being built in British Columbia and, at launch, will be a marketplace that connects employers with independent, verified tradespeople in the British Columbia skilled trades sector.
Quantus is a neutral venue that facilitates connections. Quantus is not an employer, an employment agency, a staffing agency, or a party to any work arrangement made through the platform. Quantus does not employ, supervise, direct, or control tradespeople, and does not perform trade work itself.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence (19 in British Columbia) and able to form a binding contract to use the Site or join the waitlist. The Site is intended for users in Canada, and the platform will initially serve British Columbia.
4. The Site Today (Pre-Launch)
At present, the Site provides information about Quantus and allows you to join a waitlist so we can notify you when the platform becomes available. Joining the waitlist does not create an account, guarantee access to the platform, or create any obligation on either party. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time before launch.
5. User Conduct
When using the Site or waitlist, you agree to:
- provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself;
- not misrepresent your identity, credentials, certifications, insurance status, or trade;
- not use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defraud, or harm others;
- not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; and
- not submit automated or bulk waitlist entries.
Misrepresentation of credentials, certifications, or insurance status is prohibited and may result in removal from the waitlist and refusal of future platform access.
6. Verification (At Platform Launch)
When the platform launches, tradespeople will be subject to a verification process, which is expected to include confirmation of trade certification against the SkilledTradesBC registry, confirmation of liability insurance, and a WorkSafeBC clearance letter obtained by Quantus. Verification supports trust on the platform but is not a guarantee of any person's competence, conduct, honesty, or the quality or safety of any work. The full verification terms will be set out in the platform terms published before launch.
7. Intellectual Property
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, and design — are owned by Quantus or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Site without our written permission. "Quantus" and associated logos are marks of Quantus.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Site relies on third-party service providers (for example, for hosting, email, and analytics) and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Your use of a third party's service is governed by that third party's terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quantus and its directors, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or waitlist. Because the platform is not yet live, no work relationships, job postings, payments, or transactions are facilitated through the Site at this time. When the platform launches, any work relationship will be directly between the employer and the tradesperson, and Quantus will not be responsible for the quality or safety of work performed, disputes between parties, or injuries on job sites, except as set out in the platform terms published at that time.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Quantus from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia for any dispute arising from these Terms, subject to any non-waivable rights under applicable law.
