Introducing Quantus: A Made-in-BC Marketplace for Skilled Trades
British Columbia runs on skilled trades. Electricians, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, refrigeration mechanics, gasfitters, powerline technicians — the people who keep homes warm, sites moving, and major projects on schedule. Yet finding the right people, or the right work, still comes down to word of mouth, scattered job boards, and a lot of guesswork on both sides.
We're building Quantus to fix that. Quantus is a two-sided marketplace that connects verified, self-employed tradespeople with the employers who need them — general contractors, property managers, and small contracting businesses — right across BC.
Why we're building Quantus
Trades work is relationship-driven, but the tools around it haven't kept up. Employers waste days chasing referrals and can't easily confirm whether someone holds the certification a job requires. Skilled tradespeople running their own one-person operation spend more time hunting for the next contract than they'd like, and often compete on nothing but price because there's no trusted way to show their credentials and track record.
Quantus starts from a simple idea: when both sides can see verified credentials, real availability, and honest reviews up front, good matches happen faster and everyone spends less time on friction.
How it works
Quantus is built around two roles.
For Tradespeople, Quantus is a place to build a verified profile, get discovered by employers across the province, and manage the full arc of a job — applications, scheduling, timesheets, and reviews — in one place. You keep control of your own business; Quantus just makes the work easier to find and manage.
For Employers, Quantus is a faster way to find and hire the trades you need, with confidence in who you're bringing on. Post a job, review verified candidates, and manage the relationship from first application through to completion.
Trust is the whole point
A marketplace for trades only works if the people on it are who they say they are. That's why verification sits at the centre of Quantus.
We verify tradespeople's credentials against SkilledTradesBC, the provincial authority for trade certification, and we verify WorkSafeBC coverage directly. "Verified" on Quantus means we've checked — not that someone told us.
Privacy matters just as much. Built in BC. PIPEDA and PIPA compliant — the information you share with us stays in Canada. Your account data is hosted in Canada, and we're transparent about the limited third-party tools we use for things like error monitoring and anonymous analytics.
Launching in 2026 — join the waitlist
Quantus launches in 2026, BC-wide from day one: Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island, the Interior, and the North. We're not rolling out city by city — the whole province at once.
